Overseas Patients Pre-Operative Instructions for EVLT
(Endovenous Laser Treatment)

Thank you for choosing Fukang Clinic for your Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT). To ensure safety and a smooth procedure, please carefully read and follow the instructions below.

1. Pre-Operative Evaluation & Appointment
1) Online Initial Consultation
Please provide the following information via LINE or Facebook:
• Lower limb venous duplex ultrasound report (if available)
• Recent leg photos (standing, front and side views)
• Medical history summary (symptoms, past history, medications, allergies)
2) Appointment Process
An online consultation will be arranged with Dr. Kan for evaluation.
We will confirm your suitability for EVLT and schedule your procedure date.
We recommend contacting us at least 2–4 weeks in advance for proper arrangement.

2. Preparation Before Arrival in Taiwan
• Valid passport (at least 6 months validity recommended)
• Please check Taiwan visa regulations before travel (many countries are visa-exempt; verify via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or Immigration Agency websites)
• Accommodation: The clinic can assist in recommending nearby international hotels within 5–10 minutes walking distance

3. Pre-Operative Tests & Medication
1) Required Examinations (can be done locally or brought with you):
• Lower limb venous duplex ultrasound
• Blood tests (CBC, coagulation profile, renal function) if available
• ECG (recommended for patients over 50 or with cardiac history)
2) Medication Adjustment (must inform physician):
• Stop aspirin, NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen), and anticoagulants at least 7 days before surgery (adjustments may vary by physician)
• Please bring a full list of current medications
3) Lifestyle Preparation:
• Avoid smoking and alcohol for 2 weeks before surgery
• Avoid strenuous exercise or prolonged sun exposure for 1 week before surgery
• Wear loose pants and flat shoes on the day of surgery

4. Day of Procedure
• Fasting: Not required (avoid excessive fluid intake)
• Arrival time: 30–60 minutes before procedure
• Procedure duration: approximately 30–60 minutes (local anesthesia, outpatient procedure)
• Post-procedure: 30–60 minutes observation, then you may return to your accommodation and walk normally
